Hi I'm Bea

I am a mother, a teacher, a wife, I was born in Guatemala and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Guatemala. I have a Masters in Elementary Education. The last two years I was a Math teacher! I love Math and Reading. I also love to draw and maybe someday I can illustrate a children's book. For now I have made three books, one for a friend, one for my daughter and one for my husband before he became my husband! I used to love to run but I have bad knees now, so I am getting into biking, I use my bike all the time when the weather allows it, we go grocery shopping, to school, to the park, almost anywhere on it, I pack my kids in the Burley and we are ready to go! We went to a beach one time as a family, we rode 35 miles, I was pulling a Burley with all the stuff and my husband was pulling the one with the kids. We like adventures, going camping, the outdoors. I will love to visit Italy someday and Spain, my ancestors came from Spain. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters. I love to create things, like sewing and knitting, I have a blog that shows my creations, I think it is good to reuse things that we might throw away otherwise.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a four year old my family moved from El Salvador to Guatemala because of the Civil War in that country. My dad used to give rides to the missionaries when he found them on the road. So when the missionaries came to our door, he happily let them in. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. My brothers were already baptized. I always loved to go to church because it became my lifestyle. I served a Mission in Belize and it was there where I received my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, of Joseph Smith as a Prophet of God and of Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer and His church. I have been a member of His church for almost 29 years now and I still can say with all the conviction in my heart that this is His Church, He leads it through our living Prophet Thomas S Monson, the Book Mormon is true and it continues to guide my life,e specially now that I am a mother. The Bible is true and its teachings enrich my life everyday. I know that Jesus is my Savior and I love Him and His gospel. My life could not be this happy without this gospel in my life, I have been blessed immensely, I am not perfect, I have down days and trials as everybody does, but The Lord is my light and I know that if I continue putting my trust in Him , His promises will be fulfilled. I know that thanks to Joseph Smith His gospel was restored and we have all the blessings of the Priesthood Power, we can be a family forever!!! The gospel is my lifestyle.

How I live my faith

I am currently working with the Young Women in our ward and I love it, I love going every Tuesday night to have enriching lessons with them. I loved the one where I taught them how to dance Salsa, we had a blast!! and we had salsa and chips for a snack! I love preparing lessons for this precious young women and getting to know them better. I also visit teach. My favorite person to visit just moved away, but I will always be grateful for her great example of patience and faith, but most of all for being a down to earth person who love to serve others even when her circumstances were not the most ideal, she has two sets of twins and one on the way, but she always had time to serve. I loved babysitting for her!! She inspired me to serve others as well, right now me and my girls visit a nursery home once a week. We deliver the mail to the residents and chat with them while we are there, It is fun, my girls enjoy it.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Bea
I know with all my heart that we have a living prophet today. Thomas S Monson is the prophet in our day like Moses was in his day. He speaks to God directly. I know this to be true. Show more Show less
