Hi I'm Shirley Massiel Hurtado C.

i love to spend time with my family ,I like to read and would like to someday be a writer. I'm a mormon

About Me

I have 2 siblings: my baby sister is 5 years old, my brother is 12. We grew up in Lima, Peru, but we also have family in Buenos Aires - Argentina. 3 members of my family are members of the church, the rest of them are Christians. We love to spend time together . I LOVE to draw and paint. Most of the time I have all these thoughts bouncin' around in my head... But with a brush of my hand, the world just gets kinda quiet. :) I'm currently serving in the California Roseville Mission. My decision to serve the Lord has become the most important decision I have ever made. I'm truly grateful for this time I have to serve because it's helped me understand that the Lord really cares about me, and He will give us blessings according to our actions. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the path: there's no other way we may return to Our Father. My mission has taught me to never look back, to work for the Lord with all my heart every day, and to turn to the Atonement when challenges come. Knowing this gives me strength to continue to help many souls and bring them to the Lord's path. I am grateful for the marvelous gift that Jesus Christ has given each of us and the opportunity it provides us to live with our families eternally in the life to come. I know that by following the example of His life, each of us can reach our full potential and find the true joy and happiness we all seek for in this life. I am forever indebted to Christ and all that He has personally done for me.

Why I am a Mormon

My life took a complete change the day I was converted to the gospel. It has not been easy these past 5 years, but with the Lord nothing has been impossible. Reading the scriptures and having diligence in my prayers, and attending church each week, has strengthened me to keep going on. I am grateful for all my trials--because of them I have drawn closer to my Savior. I know that I'm a daughter of God. He knows my potential; I know in every step that I'm going to take He is always going to be with me. He gives us affliction so we can become more like Him and be better.

How I live my faith

My faith has continued to grow since my conversion to the church 5 years ago. Living the gospel everyday has made me stronger by following these 3 simple steps: praying, reading the scriptures and attending church. Doing these 3 steps and making these a part of the regular routine of my life, have helped me keep my faith alive and solidify my testimony of the Savior.
