Hi I'm Syd

I am a junior high English teacher. I grew up in Washington state. I love rainy days and books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly-wed who grew up in Washington state and love all things Northwest. I am currently a middle school English teacher. Reading and writing are only a few of my hobbies. I love to go on road trips, create stained glass pieces, train for and compete in triathlons, camping, blogging, hiking, backpacking, cooking and being with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family. My belief in this gospel grew and developed from personal study of our religion. Reading the Book of Mormon solidified to me the truth of this religion. However, I continue to learn from the personal experiences that I have with divinity in those that I meet and share relationships with. Being a Mormon means striving to love others and serve those that we come in contact with. This practice has brought me the most happiness in life. I feel closer to God when I serve his children. I have experienced his unique love for me as well as the love of Christ for me. These emotions motivate me to continue to draw closer to God through the plan He has set for us through his restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church weekly, building relationships with members of my church and those in my community. I live my faith by serving others, giving of myself and showing gratitude. I live my faith by being a supportive wife, sister and daughter. I live my faith by personal scripture study, meditation, prayer and time out in nature. I live my faith by serving in God's temples. I live my faith by continuing my education and perusing virtuous interests. I live my faith by believing in and following Christ.
