Hi I'm Mckay Evans

I'm a brother, a Son, an Uncle, a friend, and a missionary. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 9 kids. I have 18 neices and nephews. Because of that, I love kids. It makes me happy to be with them, and help them. I love to play basketball, and ride dirt bikes. Right now i'm a full time missionary, serving in the Missouri Independence Mission. I will be serving until January of 2013. I really love what I do, and i'm happy to be out here.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon, because I really love Jesus. I love what he did for me, and this is how I show my love for him. I really love this gospel, especially it's emphasis on families. Family is really important to me, and it makes me happy to know I will be with them forever.

How I live my faith

Right now i'm living my faith by taking 2 years out of my life to serve my Heavenly Father. It makes me happy to be sharing it with people who might not have any idea what you're talking about. When I return home I will continue to be faithful, by living the things that the gospel teaches.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Mckay Evans
The growth of the Church can be attributed to many different people. It's true that we do have missionaries all over the world, but members are just as important. Missionaries can't do nearly as much work without the members. Especially the Bishop. He is the center to all of the work in his ward. Without him none of i would be able to be done. What is the priesthood?

Mckay Evans
The Priesthood is simply the power, or authority, to act in Gods in name. It's the power that he's given man on Earth to do what he would have us do. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Mckay Evans
They are asked to pay for themselves. They work to save up enough money to go. If they still don't have enough then their families, ward, and friends help them pay for it. If they still can't get enough money after that, then the church will help them pay for it.  Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mckay Evans
All Mormons aren't required to serve a mission. It is suggested that Young Men that are worthy should serve when they turn 19. Young Women are also welcome to serve when they are 21 or older. Senior couples can as well, if they desire. No one is forced to serve. It is your own decision. Show more Show less
