Hi I'm Tricia

I'm a wife, mother, and student. I love to cook, read, and run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 26 years and we have and are raising five children. I work as a full-time mom and am employed part time as an Instructional Assistant in an elementary school, working with children in Special Education. I have recently received my AA in Social and Behavioral Science and am working toward my BA in Human Development. I enjoy running, having run a few marathons. My most recent endeavor was running with a Southern California Ragnar team to complete a 200 mile race.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it makes me happy! Having the gospel of Jesus Christ gives my life purpose and meaning I could have no other way! I was born into a family who lived the Mormon faith. My mother had been a member since she was a young child, and my father joined the church when I was young. When I was a teenager, I began to question if the Mormon church was the faith I should live. I decided it was time to find out for myself. I began to pray earnestly and read the scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, seeking God's direction in my life. I had many friends of other faiths and I attended church with them. I asked questions, I prayed, I waited on the Lord. Little by little, I had experiences and feelings that are difficult to put into words. I began to feel God's love in a new and fulfilling way. As I lived His commandments and asked Him what I should do, He showed me. I felt the Gospel of Jesus Christ was true and what I should live. The road has never been easy, but it has been filled with life's lessons and God's love. Throughout my married life and raising children there have been challenges that I have been able to face because of my faith in Jesus Christ. He suffered so my pain can be temporary. I have also felt a tremendous amount of joy in my life as I live the Gospel. My children are a great gift, and I consider my family to be my greatest blessing.

How I live my faith

I have loved teaching children and teenagers for many years. Currently, I serve with the women in our church. I sometimes teach Sunday lessons on different Gospel topics. Day to day I look for ways to help others, sometimes by preparing meals when a family needs help, or taking care of children, or helping a someone prepare a resume for a job interview. Sometimes I just talk and listen with those who may need friend.
