Hi I'm Devina

I'm a wife, mother, musician and artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young housewife and I enjoy a challenge, whether it be singing in Italian, spelunking through a cave, or teaching a child to read.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church, but I learned to find my own belief at a young age. I have tested out the gospel for myself, through study, prayer, and obedience to God's commandments. Each day I am reassured that this is God's church as I see my life unfold on this path I have chosen and compare it to my friends who struggle without it.

How I live my faith

I lead the choir and teach music to the children in my local ward (congregation). Music is a powerful way to learn about God. It is what first helped me to have faith in him. Every month I visit four women in my ward. We talk about life, the gospel, and they know I'm always around if their family needs help. My parents taught me to apply the gospel by helping others, always, like Jesus did. Sometimes it means leaving the last cookie for someone else, or providing meals to the homeless.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood brings the power of God to earth. It is his direct permission and blessing to act in his name in order to benefit others and run the daily affairs of the church. Through it we can draw closer to him and be blessed. For instance the priesthood brings us the ordinances of baptism and the sacrament, things we need to help us return to Gods presence. The priesthood helps to lift us to heaven by giving us access to the keys of revelation, prophecy, and order in the church. Individuals and families are blessed as worthy priesthood holders serve, teach, pray, and council with other members of the church to help others and do the Lords will. Show more Show less
