Hi I'm Joanna
I'm a wife, a mother, a Texan and I am a Mormon.
I am excited to have thie way to share a little about who I am and what my family believes. I love the gospel and I have a testimony of the truthfulness of it. I am grateful for the truth I find in the Book of Mormon and the blessings of peace I find through attending my church meetings and doing temple work. The gospel and my relationship are the most important thing in my life and my family is what makes those worth living. I am truly blessed.
Truthfully I was born into the church - so I guess the original answer would be I am a Mormon because my parents were. But that is really only the beginning. It started that way - but now I am a Mormon because I know that it is true. I am a member of this church because through countless experiences I have had my testimony grow and I can't deny that it is true. I am a Mormon because I KNOW that the gospel is true and abiding by its principles will help me to return to live with my Heavenly Father one day. I am a Mormon because it answers questions I may have, it gives me peace and because I have felt the spirit bear witness to me that being a member of this church is where I am supposed to be.
I have been able to serve in several different organizations within our church and each of those experiences has blessed my life in different ways. For several years I got to work with the young women in our area. I worked with different ages from 12-18 years old. I loved leading the girls in Sunday lessons, working with them on service projects and most recently attending a week long camping experience with them. I have also taught the younger children in our congregation. As I worked with them I had so many beautiful experiences where I felt the love of my Heavenly Father as I saw their sweet innocence shine through their sweet countanences. I loved working with the children! Currently I am working with the women's organization of the Relief Society. I have the great chance to teach Sunday lessons once a month to the women. These lessons have helped my testimony to grow as we've been teaching from the Gospel Principles manual. The simplicity of the lessons has helped me to reaffirm my belief of these principles. I love getting to teach and lead the discussions! I also help to organize the service needs of the women in the ward. Whether I am helping to get meals taken in after a new mom has a baby or arranging for another sister to help with babysitting needs I love getting to see the tender mercices and gifts of service that these sisters share with each other. It's a blessing to me in my life.
