Hi I'm Fern
I am a transplanted Texas girl. I feel peace, harmony and happiness when I am picking berries. I'm a Mormon.
I am a stay-at-home mom of 6 children ages 11 to 6months. I was raised in Texas but I here tell that I don't have an accent. I live on a hobby farm where I enjoy gardening, caring for a few animals, and picking berries.
Why I am a Mormon
I have been a Mormon for fifteen years. Before I became a Mormon, I investigated many religions. Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, Buddhism, new age, etc. I went to workshops, seminars, retreats. But the enlightenment they offered only lasted a short time. When I came back to reality I was still the same as before. I began to despair that what I was looking for existed in this life. but then I found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It fit like a glove, answered my questions and made me a better person 24/7. At last I had found what I was looking for. God was watching and caring all along.
How I live my faith
Before I joined the church at 24, I swore I would never have any children or get married. Why bring children into such a horrible world? Why buy into a broken institution? Now, my marriage is going strong and if I weren't 40 years old, I would have more children. I believe that I can make the world a better place by teaching my children to have faith in Christ and to follow him. My marriage blesses my children and strengthens the institution. I live my faith by being the best mother/wife/neighbor/sister, etc. I can be.
