Hi I'm Mary

I am living my lifelong dream of being a wife and a mother. I'm a follower of Jesus Christ and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a mother to 3 beautiful and energetic children. Motherhood is my passion, and I am blessed to be able to stay at home and devote all of my efforts to building our home and raising my children. I am totally in love with my husband of almost 6 years, who is a police officer. Our boys think that is the coolest thing in the world. It is kind of scary for me, but it provides me with an opportunity to trust in God everyday and have faith in His plan. I also love to play the piano and the organ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have received a witness from God that this is the only church on the earth that contains the fulness of His gospel. I have tested it. I have tasted the fruits of living the principles of the gospel and they are delicious! I have a profound peace in my heart when I strive to keep the commandments and commune with my Father in Heaven each day. When I look anywhere else for guidance or comfort, that peace is not there. I know that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and the Savior of the world. I know that The Book of Mormon contains the words of God and it has enabled me to have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that if I strive to be like my Savior and repent and turn to Him that I can one day live with Them and with my family forever. I am so grateful for this knowledge that He has given me. It is the complete source of my happiness and joy. I am able to see all the good that there is in the world because of His restored gospel on the earth.

How I live my faith

I cherish my membership in the Relief Society, which is an organization for women in our church. As a member, I am given many opportunities to help those in need. I am a visiting teacher, which is a calling in the Relief Society that gives me the opportunity to serve specific women in my area. I visit them each month and make sure that their needs are met both spiritually and physically. I love this program because it is teaching me how to love and serve my fellow men as Jesus Christ loves us all. I am so grateful for this organization. It teaches me what my Heavenly Father wants me to be doing as a woman in order for me to become more like my Savior and return to live with Him again.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mary
As a mormon woman, I feel so blessed to know my purpose and not have to rely on what the world tells me is important. I know that I am a daughter of God and that my role as a woman is divine. I am grateful to know that I am neither more nor less important than a man. We are different, but equal. I am grateful to know that men and women should be different and that it is for a divine purpose. I know that the family is the most important unit in society and in God's plan for His children. As a woman, i cherish my responsibility to bear and nurture, to teach and love my children and my husband. I am grateful to know that I have been designed by a loving Father in heaven to fulfill this purpose. I feel so blessed to know that the messages that the world sends to women are mostly all wrong. Messages such as, women needing to do all the same things as men in order to prove that we are equal...or that my appearance is the basis of my worth...or that children are a burden and out of fashion. I am grateful for the differences that are innate in men and women. I am grateful to be married and that my husband and I can learn from our differences how to become more Christlike. I am grateful for these differences. Show more Show less
