Hi I'm Joshua McCord

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Mechanical Engineering. I love to watch and to play football, in fact I love to play all sports. I like to workout and stay fit. I like to cook, especially desserts. I come from the Oregon coast where I grew up in the same small town and same house, I have never moved. I have 7 brothers and one sister... I know what you're thinking, "poor girl"... I hope to continue my education and work in the automotive industry, and coach football.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess it is easy to say that I am a mormon because my parents are mormon, and so are my brothers and sister, and so I just grew up in the church. But why I stay a mormon is a better question. I am a mormon still, and will always be, because I felt the quiet personal assurances come to my mind and heart, time and time again, that have gradually increased my knowledge and testimony that this is Christ's church, and that the doctrines and principles it teaches are true and will bring me, and have already brought me, a greater peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the usual going to church and many other church meetings and activities. But also by doing many personal things like study the scriptures, praying several times a day, and seeking to serve others. I also live my faith by choosing not to participate in activities that will offend God, and by trying to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others who I know will be greatly blessed by it.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. They only encourage us to participate in our respective governments and to support good and righteous leaders. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Joshua McCord
The Book of Mormon is an abridgment of many different prophets and their teachings, testimonies, historical accounts, and prophecies. This abridgment was done by an ancient prophet historian named Mormon, who also gave his testimony, and prophecies. This record was eventually translated by the modern day prophet Joseph Smith.
