Hi I'm Hayley.

I'm a teacher, blogger, and a songwriter - and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 years old, from The Grand Canyon State, the youngest of five, blessed to be born of goodly parents and raised in the church. I graduated from ASU in 2009 with a BA in Secondary Eduation:English and plan on pursuing a career as a teacher and a writer. I love everything that is good in life, especially music, film, literature, and travel. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none, passionate to the core and in love with life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because "I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me". The church has always made sense to me logically ... I always felt there was no way Joseph Smith could have written The Book of Mormon, and that if Christ called apostles and prophets before it would only make sense that He would do that now. The logical appeal has grown stronger the more I have studied the scriptures. A series of events kept me involved with the church even as my family no longer attended, such as a great seminary teacher, good friends, powerful firesides and testimony meetings. It wasn't, however, until I shared the gospel with my best friends that I discovered I really had a personal testimony of my own. On my mission I have gained a spiritual confirmation of what I have long believed - that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church. I am Mormon because Christ is the only way - there is no other option - this is His gospel and I want to return to live with Him again ... so it is up to me to follow what I know to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living a clean lifestyle free of drugs or alcohol of any kind. I strive to lead a pure and virtuous life in my thoughts, words, and actions. I keep the Sabbath day holy and attend church every week, striving to worthily partake of the sacrament. I strive to repent daily, keep the commandments, pray, and study the word of God. I write faith-driven songs, music, and poetry. I love to share the blessings of the gospel with all my brothers and sisters. And I am trying to live the ultimate definition of discipleship, which is charity for all around me. I'm working on it, and loving every minute of it.
