Hi I'm Elisa

I grew up in Arkansas. I speak Korean, paint with oils, and cook exotic cuisines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm passionate about life, everything about it! I love to be outdoors whether working in the garden, hiking in the woods, or just sitting to enjoy the beauty of the world around me. I love international cultures and find myself somewhat obsessed with finding exquisite and authentic recipes from around the world to create at home. Bonus if it is beautiful to look at in addition to delicious to eat! I am an artist, well, sort of. I got my undergraduate in Fine Arts, but find it challenging to paint or sculpt on a limited budget while my husband is in medical school. So right now most of my artistic endeavors are sewing, crafting, or cake decorating. Just trying to keep life fun for my family while saving a buck or two. I'm currently working on a Masters in Humanities with an emphasis on Art History. Studying on the side keeps me busy, but the real efforts of my day revolve around my precious 2 and 1/2 year old daughter and her one month old little sister. My family is my biggest passion, that's for sure!

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been intellectually curious. Discovering truth is absolutely fascinating to me, whether that truth be scientific or religious. I'm also drawn to beauty. And there is nothing more beautiful than the truths of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I have found truths about who I am, my eternal destiny as a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon because I have found truths about life, about how to make choices that will bring me the greatest joys. I'm a Mormon because I have found truths about relationships, about how I can become a better friend, daughter, sister, mother, and wife. I'm a Mormon because I have found truths that reassure me I can be with my beloved family for eternity rather than til death divides us. I'm a Mormon because I have felt the truth of my Savior, Jesus Christ, as my personal Redeemer and Friend. I know He is happy with my decision to be faithful and I grow closer to Him by living my religion.

How I live my faith

I teach the Sunday School class for adults. Right now we are studying the New Testament. I LOVE delving in to the Savior's life and helping the other members of our congregation get excited about the scriptures! I LOVE feeling the Holy Spirit work through me and guide my lessons. Teaching is always fun, but teaching the Gospel is miraculous! Studying the Gospel with others also builds a special bond of fellowship. I feel connected like family to my congregation while we are living away from home during Medical School. I am grateful for those bonds and relationships.
