Hi I'm Dani

I'm a high school History teacher, a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a high school History teacher in Baltimore, Maryland. I love spending time with my husband, music, DIY, hiking, cooking, reading, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! The gospel brings me joy everyday. Knowing that I can be with my family and my husband forever is one of the greatest blessings in my life. I'm so grateful for Jesus Christ, His love, and the sacrifice He made for me and every person.  The gospel of Jesus Christ comforts me and helps me get through hard times. It truly is a message of joy and peace.

How I live my faith

I used to teach the "Sunbeams," or the 3 and 4 year-olds, in my ward. Their happiness and goodness is infectious! I was surprised every week by how much I learned from them. My husband and I have also taught free English classes at the church building in our area. We both love doing this because we always meet wonderful people who later become friends. It also doesn't hurt that I get to brush up on my limited Spanish skills while I'm at it. Other things I do to live my faith is just to be honest and kind and try help others and serve in my community.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Dani
Becoming dependent on addictive substances or doing things that harm our bodies is not honoring our bodies that our Heavenly Father created and gave to us. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints calls this law the Word of Wisdom. Following the Word of Wisdom helps to keep us healthy by encouraging us to eat healthy foods and exercise, as well as stay away from harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drugs. Doing our best to stay healthy helps us be more in-tune with the Holy Ghost, as well as enables us to be well so we can serve others. Show more Show less
