Hi I'm Richard

I'm an artist, animal lover, brother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a loving family who taught me to love the Lord, and appreciate the gifts He has given us. My hobbies include art, any form of visual art, animals, pocket watch collecting, and playing games. I am now serving on a mission for the Lord's church to share with others the joy I've been given through living the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I recognize, and am grateful for, the blessings that come from living the gospel. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, in spite of the trials I face. I know that He has brought peace within my family. The church has also shown me what I can become, and the gospel helps me to improve myself each day.

How I live my faith

I strive to live a life of example for those around me. I love others by serving them in any way I can. As a missionary, I answer people's questions, and help them to feel God's love so they can bring themselves closer to Him.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Richard
I want to say that some call the church a cult because they do not understand or know what goes on in our Temples. Also, because we revere Joseph Smith as our prophet, some think that we worship him. While we have great respect for him and are grateful for the work he did for the Lord on our behalf, we do not worship him. Our worship is centered around Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. While many don't know what happens inside our Temples, latter-day saints know that it is a Holy place where we can worship the Almighty, and perform the work of salvation on behalf of those who are deceased. Because the Temple is a Holy place, only members who live the gospel standards, and walk with a pure heart may enter. Members of the church who repent of their sins may enter.  Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Richard
We believe both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. We know the Bible to be the record of God's love and His dealings with His people in ancient Jerusalem, and the testimony of Jesus Christ as our Savior. We also know the Book Mormon to be the testimony of Christ's ministry on the American continent after His resurrection.  Show more Show less
