Hi I'm Jeremy Cotnoir

I'm a 9 and a half year Marine Corps Veteran and proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from high school in this small town in Maine, I went to Marine Corps Basic Training and spent the next 9 and a half years in different duty stations in California and Massachusetts. While stationed in Chicopee, MA I met my wonderful wife, a member of the Marine Corps Reserve, and we were married about 9 months later in the San Bernardino Mountains of California. 5 months later our first daughter was born. 9 months after that, I was deployed for an 8-month tour in Iraq, returning to have my daughter walk up to me on the tarmac after missing her first steps, 1st birthday, Christmas, New Year, and Valentine's Day. A year and a half later, our 2nd daughter was born, then another year and I was honorably discharged and we decided to move back to Maine to continue our life as a small family in the non-military Civilian world. After finding our niche for a while, and me being settled into a steady and secure job, we began to feel like our family lacked something, sort of a void somewhere in our lives, but not sure where and how to fill it. Some friends of ours, parents of one of our oldest daughter's classmates, had invited us to there daughter's Baptism. We said, sure, why not? And from there on out, I could not escape the comfort I felt with my family in all things LDS related.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a member of this church because of the void it has filled for my family, the healthy lifestyle changes the Word of Wisdom has brought my wife and I, and finally the Love I've felt for my Savior, Jesus Christ, is stronger than ever in my life and I truly feel his love and Heavenly Father's love for me. Prayer has emphatically strengthened my testimony and helped my family and I through small trials and large successes so far as members of the church, now approaching a year.

How I live my faith

I enjoy volunteering for any ward activity that comes up, and recently enjoyed the assembly and delivery of Thanksgiving Day baskets and care packages. The calling I have is one of the Priesthood quorums and we are heavily involved in the home teaching of active and less active members of the church. My home teaching companion and I have 5 families, who we love to visit every month and share spiritual messages with, which strengthens my testimony of the Gospel, as well as uplifting our families. I am very much enjoying raising my daughters with my wife in the church and seeing their spiritual development. I will be baptizing our oldest daughter in 2 weeks, which makes me the proudest I've been as their father.
