Hi I'm Joel

I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. I love spending time outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy camping and hiking. I love to take my children out to see nature and enjoy the beauty of this earth. I am a devoted husband. I like just spending time with my wife. A date for us is simply taking a walk, or sharing some quiet time after the children are in bed.

Why I am a Mormon

I gained a testimony when I was a young child. I was baptzed when I was 8 years old. At the time of my baptism, I felt that the church was true. As I continue to grow in the gospel, I realize the sweet joy the gospel can bring. I remember as a teenager I had a strong desire to have a solid testimony of Jesus Christ and to know that the Book of Mormon was true. As I read and prayed I felt that the gospel was true, but I wanted to be sure. I had an experience that helped me realize that I did have a solid testimony, from when I was young. I was kneeling in prayer, pleading with my Father in Heaven, asking for a confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel. A familiar warm feeling started in my chest and permiated throughout my body. I knew that the Holy Spirit was testifying to me that the gospel was true. I recognized the sweet joy of the spirit of the Lord, feeling like I was enveloped in the arms of my Savior. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that He lives. I know that he has a plan for me and my family. All I need to do is learn His plan and follow His teachings. I have felt the joy of holding my children minutes after they have come into this world. The joy felt at each of those moments helps me to know that our Father in Heaven loves us and wants us to return and live with Him again. I am grateful for my testimsony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings peace to my life and meaning amidst the chaos of this world. I know who I am and I know where I am from. And most important, I know where I have the potential to return to. I look forward to the joy of returning to live with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have served with the young men for the past 12 years. I have enjoyed the time that I spend teaching them and I am grateful for all that I learn from them. I have the opportunity to teach the young men during Sunday meetings and during the week for scout meetings. I currently serve as the Scoutmaster.
