Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a student. I'm a sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to college and studying business. I've taken some time off to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Nebraska. While I'm in school I enjoy being as involved as I can, so I joined the sorority Alpha Phi. When I'm not at school I spend time with my family. I guess you could say I'm a sister in more ways then one! I love dancing, music and just having fun! and I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church but as I moved away to start college I realized that I needed to find out for myself. I ended up having a lot of different experiences but one thing was always constant in my life. That was Jesus Christ. I came to a greater understanding of what He did for me. I knew through the spirit how real he truly was. As I've lived His gospel I experienced the greatest joy. I am a Mormon because the gospel it teaches strengthens me. It makes me not only a better person but makes me happy, and above all helps me focus on my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love sharing what I believe! My most recent calling was as a missionary in Nebraska. As a missionary I was able to teach what I know and believe in. Now that I am home I've been given many opportunities to share my experience with others. I live my faith by sharing it!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Rachel
The Atonement of Jesus Christ, in essence is what Jesus Christ did for us while he was on the earth. It encompasses three important things His suffering in Gethsemane, His death on the cross, and His resurrection. Because of the fall of Adam and Eve we became subject to two types of death. We will all face physical death and the second is spiritual death, or we are all subject to sin. Jesus Christ's sacrifice made it possible for us to not only overcome sin through his suffering but made it possible for all men to become resurrected. I've come to realize the power and strength the Atonement of Jesus Christ can be in our lives. We come to know Him through prayer and reading the scriptures. I know that He lives and loves us and he will always be there for us if we will open our hearts to Him. Show more Show less
