Hi I'm Chet

I grew up in Idaho. I work for the State of Idaho and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I work for the State of Idaho as a consultant. I also work some part time jobs in horseshoeing and truck driving. I am married and have 3 wonderful children. Our family enjoys going to football and basketball games. We like to participate in high school sports activities and support the local schools. We also like to ride horses, go hunting and fishing. We also spend a lot of our summer time camping in the nearby mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. My parents and siblings have always been members of the Church. Even though I have always been a member, I still had to find out for myself if the Church was true. I left home for two years to serve a mission. While on my mission, I prayed night and morning for answers. I was always told the church was true, but I needed to know for myself. I received an answer that I had made a good choice and the Church was true. The answer was not a voice telling me out loud, but a soft feeling inside that made me long and want for more. Each day, as I read the scriptures and work with my own family, I am reminded of the blessings of knowing God lives and Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that I can live with them again. I know the Book of Mormon is True and Joseph Smith did see God the Father and Jesus Christ. Blessings come through knowing this truth.

How I live my faith

I participate weekly and daily in church activities. I work with the youth of the church in planning and scheduling activities. I have participated in scouting for several years and take many of the kids on scout hikes, camping trips, and canoeing trips. We also have service projects where we visit the elderly, clean up the local parks, and help cut firewood for those who need help.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

The best way I have found in my personal life to come to know my Father in Heaven is to start by praying. I have also read the scriptures, including the Bible to find out about him. As I read the stories of Adam, Moses, and many other great prophets of old, I have come to realize how real our Heavenly Father is. He loves us. When I have troubles, I can ask for his help and he is there for me. Show more Show less
