Hi I'm Cameron

I'm Latter-day Saint! I love to go on dates, playing laser tag, hanging out with friends, read, and watch basketball and football!

About Me

I was born in Provo and I moved to Eagle Mountain! I am a nerd and a jock all in one! The nerdy part of me LOVES video games and Star Wars ( I also like hanging on to a couple of things from childhood!)! The jock part of me LOVES to play and watch basketball and football! I will play any sports but those two are my abosolute favortie sports! I love to hang out with friends and just relaxing! Right now I am serving a mission for the church in Florida! It is the greatest thing EVER!!! I am an Eagle Scout and have I have graduated from high school. I love to read and use my imagination! I was working on writing a story but I have had to put that on pause for the next 2 years! It's gonna be the next greatest book! I am the only boy out of 4 children, I'm second oldest, and get to carry all the heavy things! The last thing you should know is that I like to keep things short, sweet, and to the point!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church (of Jesus Christ) because I was born into it. Now just because I was born into it doesn't mean that I instantly know it's true! Every member born into the Church has to come to know for their self that The Book of Mormon is true, which means that Joseph Smith was/is a Prophet of God, that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's one true Church on the Earth today! I have come to know these things to be true and I have a desire to follow Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ because they WON'T lead me the wrong way! There are many instances in the Book of Mormon and in the History of the Church that prove that this Church was established by the hand of God through a living prophet! Some may feel that prophets are unnecessary in this day, but it is a wonderous thing to be lead by a prophet of God! He will NEVER lead us astray!! There is a great, happy, and wonderous message in this church that we can be together with our families forever and I think that is one of the first reasons why I love the church! Because I love being with my family and don't ever wanna be seperated from them! Even though I have all sisters I love being with them and teasing them from time to time!

How I live my faith

Right now I am a missionary and what we do is we go proclaim the gospel to the world, by helping them find Christ in their lives! I read my scriptures daily and see the blessings from that in my mission right now! It has changed me sooo much! Before my mission I had read the Book of Mormon and knew about Jesus Christ but I didn't really know what they had to do with each other until I became a missionary! Ever since then I have gained a strong testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all man and that Book of Mormon's purpose is to testify of Him! I now have a stronger desire to be kind to others and to go and help others in any way I can! Jesus Christ has been the ultimate example to me and I want to do my best to become like Him! Before my mission I would follow the guidelines our church has for us and tried to obey my parents as much as possible! There were times when I wouldn't listen to my parents and I did some stupid things. I have learned the hard way why it is important to listen to my parents! By reading the Book of Mormon I have become very fimilar with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I have read in it that there was many prophecys about our day and talk about what exactly is happening now! I have come to know that nobody could be that good at predicting, and that it was said by a prophet of our Heavenly Father! The Book of Mormon IS true!!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Cameron
You can find this out to be true by reading the Book of Mormon and then praying with a sincere heart (you really want to know!), with real intent (meaning you will act on the message you recieve), having faith in christ, and believing that you will get an answer. It will be given to you through the Holy Ghost which is a feeling of peace, comfort, joy, and happiness! Of course that isn't the only ways the Holy Ghost can be felt! You have to experience for yourself and discover how the Holy Ghost talks to you (usually if it feels right it is from the Holy Ghost)! Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Cameron
The family is so important because the gospel was made for the family. We are Heavenly Father's children and he wants us ALL to return and live with Him. And also we are sent to this earth to LIVE in families. Why would He send us here to be in families if they weren't important? We have to learn and grow somewhere! Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Cameron
Missionaries proselyte because we love the church and we want to share it with everyone behind every door because the message we have has greatly blessed our lives! And it is something that we have been covenanted (promised) to do since we were baptized! Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Cameron
It was prophesied that there would be a great falling away, or Apostasy, occur (Amos 8:11-12). When Jesus Christ came to the Earth he set up his Church and called Twelve men to be Apostles and gave them power and authority (Priesthood) to continue his work after his death. Christ taught them his gospel (Faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end) and he sent them out to proclaim it to the world! Unfortunately people chose to reject Christ and his Apostles and killed them. The Priesthood they had was taken from the Earth and for centuries men looked for the truth but weren't able to find it. They recognized differences between the church and the way Christ's Church was and wanted to get back to it so they made some changes and other churches came about. Unfortunately they didn't have the proper Priesthood Authority to run God's true Church. It got to a point were a Restoration had to occur. Joseph Smith was confused about which church was true. As he went to different churches he came to the conclusion that everyone had a different view of the Bible and it would make it very hard to answer a question by going to the Bible. Joseph decided to read in the Bible to search for answers. He came across James 1:5 which penatrated his heart very deep and he acted on it. He went into a grove of trees and knelt in prayer and God the Father and Christ came to him. They called him to be a prophet and restored the Priesthood to the Earth through him. Show more Show less
