Hi I'm Matt

I'm am a builder of random stuffs, a kid at heart, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love to have fun, in any kind of way. Building projects, telling jokes, talking with friends and family, anything is enjoyable if you make it. I love music. I enjoy singing and playing different instruments. Cooking is another passion, but baking is where its at. I love seeing a pile of random ingredients blend together to become a tasty treat. Most importantly, my family is everything to me. I love spending time with them and learning and experiencing many trial and joys with them. I love the outdoors. Plants, animals, mountains, everything and love learning how everything works and works together.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many others I was born and raised in the church. I grew up going to Primary and advanced into the Young Mens program. I went to seminary and learned about the Savior Jesus Christ and his Gospel. But like many others, I decided I needed to do things my own way. I slowly drifted away from the church and the teachings of it. I started looking for different ways to become happy. At first, I tried to follow Heavenly Father, and not offend Satan. Over time, however, Satan won and I turned my back on the Savior. It took many years, but through many prayers, much hardship and the faith of those around me, I once again felt the Savior embrace me as I returned. I am a Mormon, because only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ did I find true happiness. Only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ did I feel like I had a greater purpose in this life. And only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ I had a hope for a brighter future.

How I live my faith

Everyone has heard the old saying, "What would Jesus do?" When I first heard it I didn't think much of it. It wasn't until I had the opportunity to stand in the place of the Savior as a missionary for the church that I truly understood what Jesus would do. I try each and everyday to make those decisions that the Savior would. I try to help everyone I can around me by reaching out and supporting them as they pass through trial. I try to love everyone and see the good that each of person has in them. I do my best to be faithful in the callings and assignments I have received in the church. My main goal, and ultimate dream would be to become so much like the Savior that when others look at me, they would see the Savior and feel His love. I know I am not perfect, but I know that as I do my best the Savior will help me. He will build me up to live how my Heavenly Father wants me to.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Matt
Coming to know that the Gospel is true is really simple. So simple that many people turn away because it is 'too' simple. By doing simple things like reading the Book, of Mormon, praying, and attending church services, anyone can know that the Gospel and that 'Mormonism' is true. Test it out. Pay attention to the feelings that these steps bring to your heart. The Holy Ghost will testify that these things are of Heavenly Father. You will feel the His love in them. Show more Show less
