Hi I'm McKay

I'm a missionary serving in upstate New York, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from American Fork, Utah -a town just south of Salt Lake City. My hobbies before my mission included indoor soccer, pretending to play guitar, work, and just enjoying being with my friends and family. Being on a mission, those things are put aside for now, and I have the great opportunity of teaching people the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis, here in Upstate New York.

Why I am a Mormon

At some point or another, everyone asks themselves the question, "Is what I believe really true?" The important thing in my personal conversion was not only to ask myself that question, but to ask God. I asked in prayer and received an answer. Since that time that answer has been reaffirmed time and time again.

How I live my faith

Living my faith means living up to what God expects of me. God wants us to make us the best that we can be. He wants us to have true happiness and peace both in this life, and after this life. Out of these desires for us, God gives us commandments and expects us to strive to obey them so that we can better reach our full potential and experience true joy. Another big part of living my faith is spreading my faith. That's why I'm currently serving a mission here in Utica New York.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

McKay
Yes! All throughout time, whenever Gods children have been ready to listen, God has chosen specific messengers called prophets and given them his priesthood authority. Prophets testify of Jesus Christ as our redeemer, reveal Christ's Gospel, and make known Gods plan of happiness for us as his children. From the book of Amos in the old testament we learn, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth his secrets to his servants the prophets." Surely in a world like today, God continues to reveal His word and his will through his chosen messengers the prophets. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

McKay
Christ commanded his disciples, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations." I believe that commandment to spread the gospel, to be my own personal commission in the New York Utica area. I want to help others to understand Gods plan for them. There are answers to life's most puzzling questions. General questions like, "Where did we come from before we were born?" or "What is the purpose of life?" have answers. Even personal questions people have like, "Why did this happen in my life?" or "How can I successfully raise a family in a world like this?" all have answers. This is because God has again revealed his plan for us, His children, through his chosen messengers, the prophets. Show more Show less
