Hi I'm Aubrey

I'm a wife, a mom, a runner, a health-nut and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother to four little girls. My days are filled with a lot of pink and dolls. And helping with homework. And volunteering at school. And driving all over creation keeping everyone going in the right direction. I love good food. I bake bread and cookies all the time...which is why I took up running! I never thought I'd actually like running, but I actually do. It clears my head and wakes me up. It is my time to myself so I can be everything to everyone else in my life the rest of the day. I love a good book, when I have some quiet time...which is rare right now.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I started out a Mormon because my parents are and they took me to church. But I've stayed a Mormon because I have learned for myself that it's all true. All of it. I don't understand all of it, but I don't have to know or understand everything completely to know that it's all true. No matter what the situation I have found myself in in my life the teaching of the church have always been right and helped me be a better and happier person.

How I live my faith

I am very active in my ward. I teach in the women's organization right now. In the past I've taught in the youth and children's programs as well. I really enjoy teaching. It helps me to study the gospel on a deeper level in order to prepare the lessons, and I always learn way more than I ever actually teach, I think. I love going to church on Sundays. Sincerely. It always lifts my spirits and makes my week better.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is such a beautiful doctrine of the gospel. It's the central doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ, really. It is by the grace of Jesus Christ that we can be made perfect and live with God again. No matter what we do in this life, no matter how good we are, we still aren't perfect. And nothing short of perfection can dwell with God. Jesus Christ so lovingly and selflessly paid the price of our shortcomings and mistakes to make us perfect like Him. And we accept that gracious gift by making covanents with HIm and obeying the commandments He has asked us to. It is a small thing, really, to do that considering all He offers us. It truly is 'by Grace we are saved, after all we can do.' Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, I really and truly believe that. And why wouldn't there be? God loves us in this time just as much as He did the people in Adam's time, or Moses' time. We are His children just as they were. Why would He only have a leaders for times past, and not today? The world grows ever more complicated and busy. We face challeneges and opportunities that no one in history could have even imagined in their wildest dreams. We need a prophet to clarify and guide and lead. It is such a blessing to have prophets and apostles that are an unfliching guidepost to follow. Show more Show less
