Hi I'm Jo Lynn

I'm a wife and mother of 2 little boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a former teacher and currently stay home with my two little boys. We adopted both of our children in the U.S.A. at birth. We love going to the zoo or the park, or spending the day at the coast! Being a stay at home mom is challenging, but I love my boys more than anything in the world. When I have free time I like to go on walks, do floral design, and read books.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful Mormon family and grew up in the Mormon faith. When I was about 16, I decided I needed to know for myself what exactly was contained in the Book of Mormon. I needed to study it for myself to find out if it was true. I needed my own testimony and didn't want to rely on the faith of my parents anymore. I decided to read a chapter a day until it became a habit. At the end of the Book of Mormon, one of God's prophets challenges us to read the book, ponder it, and pray to know if it is true. I took this challenge and received the answer I was looking for. I prayed and felt God's answer to me was that it is true. When you know for yourself that something is true, you cannot deny it. I am a Mormon because I have learned for myself that this church is the only church that has all the teachings, ordinances, and covenants necessary to return to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving and serving my family. I want to live with my family for eternity so I try to treat them like the children of God they are. I live my faith by loving and serving the people around me. I enjoy making friends with people who are new or are visiting our church. I am lucky to be able to teach lessons with the full-time missionaries and see how the gospel of Jesus Christ can change a person's life. It is amazing to see the light in the eyes of a person who finally realizes they are a child of God and learn how they can live with him again!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Jo Lynn
Oh yes!! Isn't it wonderful that God has given us a prophet today to give us guidance and direction? Prophets in the Bible such as Moses directed the people and taught them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They received direct revelation from God. They had the authority from God to establish His church. Why wouldn't God do the same for us today? Why would our Heavenly Father leave us alone to try to figure out his plan by ourselves? Our prophet today is a man chosen by God to teach us about the things God wants us to know so we can be happy on this Earth and return to live with God again. He does not seek to be prophet, nor is he voted in. The prophet receives direct revelation from God to lead the church, but we don't need to follow him blindly. We can pray for ourselves to know the things the prophet says are true and receive personal revelation for ourselves! And so can you! We thank God for a living prophet to lead and guide us in these days! It shows how much God loves us and hasn't abandoned us. Does God love us any less in these times than in Bible times? Absolutely not! Show more Show less
