Hi I'm Heidi

I am a librarian and a grad student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Libraries are my passion. My time is split between working in one as a librarian and studying about them as a grad student in Library and Information Studies. I have been an artist my whole life, but that is just a hobby. I also love to read, design clothes, write fiction and research genealogy. I grew up with the breath-taking view of the big blue Texas sky but traded it in for a new backdrop of snow capped mountains. I am obsessed with words, I love to sit down and read the dictionary and learn all I can about their history. I also really enjoy a good 3-D puzzle and reading as many books as I can get my hands on.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but they let me choose when I was 8 what I did with my Sundays. That was a turning point for me, I was no longer going for them, I went because I wanted to. Little by little I have gained more reasons why I go to church, follow the LDS teachings and share my faith with others. It is no longer a matter of just attending Sunday services, it is a way of life and of thinking that I have grown to love. By following the teachings of Christ & keeping the commandments I feel more freedom, hope and happiness then when I don't. I can testify in all sincerity that anyone who earnestly tries to follow Christ, will find the same joy & peace.

How I live my faith

I have been given the responsibility of taking care of the spiritual and temporal needs of my fellow church members locally. Along with a co-chair and a council I organize resources for job searches, food storage, emergency preparedness, and healthy living.
