Hi I'm Kayla

I'm a college student. I'm a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm studying economics in college right now. Some of my hobbies are reading, painting, and baking. I love music and going to concerts, and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I was able to learn for myself that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that this is His church. I am a convert to the church, and I was baptized just after I graduated high school. It was definitely the best experience of my life! I was introduced to the Book of Mormon, and as soon I began to read it and attend church I knew that I had been lead to something special. As I continued to learn more, my relationship with my Heavenly Father grew. I learned that He knows me personally and that He loves me very much. Through the Holy Spirit I knew that the Book of Mormon was sent to us from God and that it is true. It took time for me to decide that joining the church was right though. I found comfort in a verse out of the book of Alma in the Book of Mormon that says, “But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my word.” This assured me that Heavenly Father is patient and that He would help me find the right path, which is exactly what happened. This church is such a blessing in my life. I am a Mormon because as I follow Christ I am propelled to do better in life. It gives me a purpose and direction that I didn't have before. I don't have to be weighed down by the stress in life because I know I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do my best each day whether I am studying, working, serving in the church, or spending time with people that I love. Since I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father, I want my efforts in whatever I do to be pleasing to Him. When I place God first in my life, I am able to love and appreciate my circumstances and the people around me better than I could by myself. My faith is the love that I have for God, and from that comes the happiness I have in life.
