Hi I'm Scott

I'm a proud husband and father. I'm a water resources engineer. I love hiking and classical music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and am the middle child of a large family. I'm doctoral engineering student researching hydrologic modeling, and web development. I'm married to a beautiful woman who is an amazing clarinetist. We love hiking, snowshoeing, and going to the symphony together.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up I was taught the principles of the restored gospel by my parents. I always believed those principles, but I remember when I was about 13 or 14 years old I felt like I really needed to find out for myself if the things my parents had taught me were true. I had read the Book of Mormon and knew of the promise made by the Prophet Moroni at the end of the book (Moroni 10:3-5). I decided that I would read the Book of Mormon again and this time pray as I read to know that the book was true. As I progressed through the book and continued to pray about it, I felt a reassurance and conviction that the book was true. That knowledge came slowly over time for me, but it continues to be reaffirmed each time that I read that book.

How I live my faith

I try to make my faith part of every aspect of my life. I find that studying the scriptures and praying every day helps me be a better student, a better neighbor, and a better husband. I enjoy the friendships that develop as I've serve with other members of my faith.
