Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in Michigan. I am a husband, a father and a scientist. Being a Mormon brings me joy and the peace of Christ.

About Me

The most important part of my life beyond my relationship with God the Father and His son Jesus Christ is my family. I am married to a virtuous woman who is an wonderful mother to our five children. My family is the joy of my life. Besides spending time time with them, I love to serve others. I enjoy being able to help lighten the load that others are bearing. I particularly love to see the light that comes into peoples lives as they learn of, accept and incorporate the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ into their lives. I like to work to improve the world around me. I enjoy working in my yard and garden and love to watch the plants grow, blossom and beautify our surroundings. I like to build things with my hands that improve the form and function of our home.

Why I am a Mormon

I find that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ as found only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides me with greater happiness, peace and knowledge than any other doctrine or teaching I have encountered. I have come to know that I am a son of God with limitless eternal potential. Thanks to the Atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ I have the opportunity to overcome my mortal weakness and gain eternal life with Him and with my Father in Heaven. God has taught me the truth of this knowledge through his Holy Spirit, which Christ taught is the Spirit of Truth.

How I live my faith

I strive to be kind to others and to show love to them through service. I enjoy helping other people. It brings me fulfillment to know that I have helped lighten the load that others are bearing. A prophet of God once said, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." I also enjoy serving God through filling a position in the lay-ministry of his church. I currently serve in a position that allows me to function as a traveling adviser to the leadership of other congregations. This position also provides me with the opportunity train others in how to share the gospel with individuals and families who do not currently have the same faith and understanding of God's plan of happiness that we do. I love to see the light that comes into people's lives as they learn of, gain faith in and accept the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ as restored to the earth by God through the prophet Joseph Smith.
