Hi I'm Donn W. Mason II

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, a teacher, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Things about Donn: "I'm a Mormon." I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love my wonderful wife Cheryl, now of 34 years. I love family in general and our family specifically. I love being Dada to one generation and Papa to another, and I love playing “Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum” with my grandchildren. I believe in the theology of the Family. To me it is not coincidental that of all the titles that can be correctly applied to God, He most frequently refers to Himself as Father! I love my students. I love my friends. I love people in general, and I approach everyone as brothers and sisters. There is nothing that I have a dear friend who says that “nothing is as close to flying as ballroom dancing;” and while I know what she is saying, I have to say that nothing is as close to flying as teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I teach I feel His good pleasure upon me (to paraphrase the great Scottish Missionary, Eric Liddell)! I rejoice in and have full faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that only in and through Christ am I saved; but I also know that because of Christ’s perfection and His perfect, infinite, and eternal sacrifice, salvation and exaltation are both true and faithful and will be the outcome of living the Christ-like life.

Why I am a Mormon

It has been made known to me by the Holy Spirit of God, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church on the earth. That God has restored His Church with its attendant priesthood authority to preach His gospel and administer in the ordinances of Salvation and Exaltation. In this Church I have found answers to all of my questions, along with the evidences of the fruits of the Spirit referenced in the Holy Scriptures.

How I live my faith

I believe what the Bible says that "we are [God's] workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them;" (Ephesians 2:10) and that "it is God which worketh [in me] both to will and to do of his good pleasure.... [and that] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God...and...[Therefore] I do not frustrate the grace of God." (Philippians 2:13; Galatians 2:20-21.) I seek to bless the lives of everyone come into contact with. In my Church calling, I assist in the training and support of called leaders in my local geographical area.
