Hi I'm Carrie

I'm a Daughter of God. I'm blessed with a wonderful family. I'm a Graphic Design student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Carrie, and I love life! I’m a southern girl, born and raised. My work includes being a freelance graphic designer and small business owner. I’m a lover of all things crafty and enjoy learning new ways to use old inventions. I enjoy dry humor, puns, and witty sayings. Cookies are my favorite dessert and chicken pot pie is my favorite dinner.

Why I am a Mormon

I have the privilge of being a 6th-generation Southern Mormon on both my mom and dads’ side of the family. But I'm not a Mormon because I was born into it - I am a Mormon because I CHOOSE to be a Mormon. I was very blessed to grow up in a family that was active in Church. My parents always served well and set a good example for my siblings and me to follow. Because of their example and my personal experience, I choose to be Mormon. I choose to be a Mormon because I see the happiness the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives to my life. I choose to be a Mormon because I recognize all of the unconditional and continuing blessings God gives to me when I am faithful in keeping his commandments. I choose to be a Mormon because I like keeping the commandments of God. I choose to be a Mormon because I have had trials and doubts in my life, and God has always been there for me – to forgive me, to love me, and to erase all my doubts and fears. I choose to be a Mormon because I truly believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ: that He lived for us, He died for us, and He lives for us again. I choose to be a Mormon because I love the testimony of Joseph Smith: the courage he had to ask God, himself, which church was true, and the faith he had to know God would answer him. I choose to be a Mormon because I know God still answers prayers. I choose to be a Mormon because I have read and studied the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and know of the peace it brings to my life. I choose to be a Mormon because it is THE BEST choice for my life.

How I live my faith

My favorite way to live my faith is through serving others. I love service because it’s ACTION. Service is so versatile and customizable - anyone can serve and all can receive. Service can be a big task or a small gesture. The little day-to-day acts of service are my favorite. I love picking up a dropped book or smiling at someone who looks like they need encouragement. I love asking what’s going on in someone’s life and genuinely listening. Matthew 25:40 reads “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” I love knowing that when I’m serving, I am taking action, I am uplifting those around me, and I am following the commandments of God.
