Hi I'm Abby

I'm a wife and mother of three. I love music and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom with three active children. I like to volunteer at my daughters school, and keep busy teaching music classes in my home and working with a music academy creating curriculum. I am a member of a book club and try to read every chance I get. I love reading books with my children, although I am finding it hard to keep up with my daughter as she is discovering the love of chapter books and staying up late reading in bed. I studied music education in school and have enjoyed the chances I've had to take continuing education classes. I would love to go back to college, not to get another degree, but to take all the classes I missed out on the first time...and not have to worry about graduating. I enjoy cooking, but my husband and I eat out as often as we can, and love trying new restaurants. I also enjoy making treats, but I try to give them away, so I don't eat them all myself!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Latter-Day Saint family and have always been an active member myself. I remember my baptism day, feeling like royalty and knowing that this was an important day in my life. My testimony has grown and been strengthened as I have gone through different aspects of my life, including moving away from home and living without my family, as well as starting a family of my own. The gospel is critical to how I live my everyday life. I love the inspiration that I receive in my roles as a wife, mother, daughter, friend, and community member. I also appreciate the moral teachings of the church and rely on them often as I am raising my own children in the church. I know that there are a lot of hard questions in the world, and while I do not profess to know all the answers, I appreciate that having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life gives me answers to many of the questions that plague our society.

How I live my faith

I am the president of the women's organization for our ward. It is amazing to work with fabulous women and to help organize their efforts in serving others in our ward and community. We help take in meals to families that are sick. We have helped organize child care for a woman undergoing chemotherapy. We have brought treats to women who just had babies. We have worked together to sew dresses for orphans in Africa. We have helped at our local food pantry. We have cleaned women's houses who are working single mothers. And the amazing thing is, that the women in my ward are thrilled to help at every opportunity presented. I love singing in our ward choir, and frequently perform music in church, either singing or playing the piano or organ. I think music is one of the easiest ways for people to feel the spirit and I try and participate whenever I can.
