Hi I'm Rob

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 8 beautiful children. I am recently divorced, from a marriage of 23 years. I used to be in law enforcement until numerous injuries to my back sent me to an early retirement. I am currently attending school to obtain my PhD in Public Safety so that I can teach future cops. My children are my life. I couldn't have picked a better mother for my children. She is a wonderful mother and teacher who would always put the needs of the children ahead of her own. We are still friends and we hope to raise the remaining children in a manner that the divorce won't be so traumatic. Some of my interests are hunting, fishing and camping. I like watching my children participate in sports. Finally, the Lord is my primary interest at this point in my life since my family is 500 miles away. I love going to the temple at least once a week. I listen and study the scriptures and love to see the lessons applied in my own life. I have a a daughter on a mission in California right now and am so proud of how she has chosen to live her life. Another daughter will be married in the Salt Lake Temple this fall. She has been awesome in maintaining righteous boundaries with her peers. The church has been the greatest thing that has happened in my life next to my beautiful ex-wife and my wonderful 8 children. I encourage anyone to learn about the church from its members and not the nonsense that is out in cyberspace by ignorance or apostates.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert. My mother joined the church when I was six and I was baptized at the age of 8. However, my family had issues with alcoholism so my real conversion didn't happen until I was 21 and on my own. My biggest teacher and trusted confidant was my ex-wife. I have learned so much from her that she is responsible for my testimony of Christ and his church being built on an unbreakable foundation. I know that I belong to Christ's true church and am honored to be a worthy priesthood holder and father of 8 children. I know that Christ lives and that we have a modern day prophet at the head of this church. What we must all remember is that the Church is perfect and its members aren't. So I would encourage all to investigate the Church and learn of its principles even if one has had a bad experience with a Church member. Please don't judge the Church based on bad seeds, instead seek the truth from the Lord himself by reading and following the advice in the Book of Mormon. I know I am in the right place in the right time. I leave this with you in Jesus' name, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by adhering to Christ's teachings and examples. I attend my church meetings regularly and attend the temple once a week. I read and listen to my scriptures daily as well as several prayers on a daily basis. I look for missionary opportunities daily and try to stay in tune with the spirit by living by the directions of my prophet and the apostles. This includes living by the Word of Wisdom and watching, listening, and reading appropriate material that is not offensive to Jesus.
