Hi I'm Misty

I'm a Mother of 4 under 4. I'm a wife. I also work from home as a Shelf Reliance Consultant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Before anything else, I am mother to my four beautiful children. Usually, that is by choice. Sometimes it is b/c they simply demand it. *haha* As of March 2011, I have 3 yr old twin boys, an 20 mo old daughter, and a 2 mo old daughter. They keep me busy and very, very happy. I also have a wonderfully amazing and supportive husband who adores our children as much as I do. There is never a dull moment in our house and almost always a reason to laugh. I am a consultant with Shelf Reliance. I teach others how to save time and money while putting delicious and nutritious meals on their family's table on my blog www.YourOwnHomeStore.com I also help families become self reliant with emergency supplies and long term food storage. I love music, nature and being outdoors. I love reading and love to be active. I must have a good "girl's night out" at least every few weeks!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I am absolutely certain that I am known by and loved by God and Christ. Being a member of Christ's church motivates me to be better. And I want to be better especially as a mother. I feel it is essential that I do all I can to be good. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me both the motivation and the hope that I can continue to improve and overcome my weaknesses.

How I live my faith

I attend church each Sunday with my husband and children. Each morning, we read scriptures together. Each morning and evening, we have family prayer. We have a gospel lesson and fun activity each Monday evening. Through these things, we strive to develop Christ-like characteristics faith, patience, temperance, and most importantly, love. I also work with16-18 year old girls in our congregation. Each Sunday, we talk about Christ and his teachings and how we can be more like him. Each Tuesday, we have fun, faith building activities.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Self Reliance brings a unique kind of freedom. When you aren't dependent on anyone else for your and your children's well-being, there is a sense of peace and contentment that just isn't possible when you are reliant on others. Show more Show less
