Hi I'm Tammy

I am a Mormon. I grew up in Ohio. I graduated from college with a teaching degree in art.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom. I am 41 years old. I love to create artwork and decorate. I enjoy playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church before I was born. I was baptized at the age of 10. My childhood family didn't attend church much. My dad worked Monday through Saturday. Sunday's became our family fun day. We did day trips, visited museums, and hung out together. We just stopped going to church. Later when I was in college I decided to find the nearest Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meeting house. I began attending church on Sundays to find out more about who Joseph Smith was and what Jesus Christ taught in the scriptures. I didn't know anything about Mormonism. I was learning from the beginning. As I attended church regularly every Sunday and listened to the teachings I felt a strong feeling of the truthfullness that was taught. I felt good and peaceful inside. I wanted to know more. I began to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Again... I felt a strong feeling of the truthfullness as I read this entire book. I wanted to know even more. I began to pray for answers to my questions. I talked with missionaries to find out further answers to my questions. As I learned about the teachings of the church and how it began I knew it was set up through divine inspiration. I knew Jesus Christ was a part of this church. I then realized Joseph Smith who helped organize this church was a prophet of God and recieved his inspiration through Him. It made me realized that we have a prophet on earth today as we did thousands of years ago as in the Bible. Heavenly Father sets up a perfect system and doesn't deviate from it. Prophets have direct communication with God. It's always been that way. The more I learned the more I understood. That was 20 years ago. As I began to find answers and feel they were true I became sure of who a Latter-Day Saint was or commonly called Mormon. I continue to read and re-read the Book of Mormon. I read the Bible each day as well. I search the scriptures for information and answers. I pray everyday for help for the things I stand in need of. I attend church services every Sunday where I feel a great sense of peace and feel edified each week. I truly believe Heavenly Fathers loves us and wants us to return to Him. I truly believe our Savior Jesus Christ attoned for our sins and made it possible for us to return back to live with our Heavenly Father. I believe our living Prophet today Thomas S. Monson has direct communication with Heavenly Father. I have a better understanding of my worth and value here on earth. Creation didn't all happen by chance but by a divine plan. I know this to be true. That is why I am a Latter-Day Saint or Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach and help out the women in my church. I find joy in teaching and learn alot when I teach. I also participate in volunteering opportunities in my church, school and in my community. I feel it is hard to make a difference in such a large International community. Through small steps great things can happen so I volunteer and know someone is bennifitting and being lifted from my work. I stay at home to raise my children. I enjoy being involved in school activities and helping them with homework. Hearing what went on at school with teachers and friends. I feel like I really know what is going on in their lives. It has helped me create close relationship with them.
