Hi I'm Skyler.

I teach Primary. I like writing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 and single. I'm the oldest of seven kids and the proud Aunt of a brand new nephew. Currently not in school but i work as a floral assistant. I enjoy reading, movies, crossword puzzles, walking at the park, and babysitting. I love being around children at any age. I love teaching primary.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. I was baptized at age eight. I participated in Achievement Days and Young Women"s including going to girls' camp for a couple of years. I think I always knew the Church was true but my testimony didn't develop until later. For several years during my teens my family and I were inactive. The missionaries visited us and continually invited us to church. Leaders and visiting teachers continued to stay in contact. I never went against the teachings of the church and never stopped believing it was true. One day I decided to read the Book of Mormon for myself. I had been taught that scripture study and prayer would bring me closer to my Heavenly Father and I desperately needed that in my life. I took a Book of Mormon to my room that night and started reading. From that day on I faithfully read a chapter or more a night and prayed morning and night. I know see it as a way I was prepared to go back to church. Later that year a pair of missionaries started to visit and they invited us back. This time I yearned to do so. I told my mom and she decided to bring the whole family. Every week I went and every week I learned more and became closer to my heavenly father. I finally realized what my life was missing. I gradually have become more involved and still study my scriptures and pray daily. I know this is the Church of Jesus Christ. I know he loves me and cares about my specific needs. There have been many times I have prayed for comfort, help, or guidance and received it. My testimony has grown with every leap of Faith I have taken. I know the scriptures are true and the work of God. I know Joseph Smith was a true Prophet who helped restore the Gospel to the Earth. I know that by living righteously I can live with my family forever. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I attend Church on Sundays. I teach the five year olds about Jesus and his gospel. I am also a visiting teacher which is where we visit women from our ward to see how they are doing. I also attend an institute class every week which is a more in depth study of the scriptures and doctrine of the church.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Skyler.
Jesus was crucified and suffered for the sins of the world. All those already committed and to be committed. He paid the price or consequence for our sins. Because he loved us and did this we are able to repent of the sins we commit and be forgiven. Through his mercy and grace and after we do all we can do to be righteous and repent we can live with Him again. Show more Show less
