Hi I'm Spencer

I am an athlete, a student, a teacher, a missionary, and I am a mormon.

About Me

My name is Spencer, but for the next two years I will be going by the title of Elder. I am a missionary for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I am serving my mission in Canada, and I love it. Back home before I came out to be a missionary I was really into sports, that is playing them more then watching them. I love to swim and swam for my high school my junior and senior year. I worked as a lifeguard, swim teacher and clerk at a local pool. My goal is to try out as many sports as I can in my lifetime. I am the second of four children and I love my family very much, my parents rock and my siblings are my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I love how the church is centered around the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that I am learning the same teachings that he himself taught while he was on the earth. I have come to know that Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that I have a purpose in this life and more importantly I know what that purpose is. I know that my family can be together forever and that death will not seperate our relationship with one another. I have come to know all of these things by prayerfully reading the Book Of Mormon and asking God directly in prayer if it is true and if this truely is his one and only church on the earth today. I know that it is because I recieved an answer to my prayer

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by being a missionary. I came out because I knew it is what's right for me at this point of my life and I also know that God has asked me to do this and I want to be obedient to his commandments. I love sharing the gospel with others even if it sometimes is a little scary to open my mouth and just start a conversation. I know that I have been blessed greatly by having the gospel in my life and now I want to give others the same oppertunity to feel and have the same joy that I experience. I am choosing to have faith over fear and to invite others to listen to the message that I have to share. I am not perfect, but the church is and it is run by God and he will help me in this task.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, not at all. We revear and respect him as a prophet and servent of God, however we do not worship him. We only worship God the Father and his son Jesus Christ Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

no, we are all literal children of Heavenly Father. He wants us to take care of one another and love one another, just because someone comes from a different background or history doesn't mean we wont try and lend a helping hand when when can.  Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When missionaries visit you at your home they will usually start off trying to get to know you and understand who you are and where you are at in your spirituality. They then will teach a lesson usually beginning and ending with a prayer. The lessons they share talk about the the Restoration of the church, God's Plan of Salvation, The Gospel of Jesus Christ, and The Commandments. It usually takes several visits for an individual to understand and learn everything the missionaries have to share. Show more Show less
