Hi I'm Lea Ann

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mother of 2 small children so I am always running around after them. In my down time I like to journal/scrapbook, read, and cook. My favorite non-church books to read are Harry Potter or any story that has adventure. For exercise I enjoy swimming and riding my bicycle.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 16 years. I was raised in a Baptist church where my father was the minister. In high school I met a friend who was Mormon and over time my friend shared bits and pieces of the gospel with me. Finally my friend invited me to come to their home and have dinner with the missionaries. I met with the missionaries and had the first discussion. The missionaries asked me if I thought Joseph Smith was a prophet. I told them that I did not know weather he was a prophet or not but I that I thought it was possible. As the discussions progressed and I began to sincerely pray about the things they were telling me I had a feeling of peace and everything they taught made sense to me. It was as if I had always known these things. I asked to be baptized. I was told I had to have my father's permission because I was under eighteen years old. I asked my father for permission. He had very strong negative feelings toward the church and he did not want me to be baptized but he said it was my choice. I choose to be baptized and for about a year my father and I had a very shaky relationship but eventually he saw that the life I was living was good. All the bad things he thought would happen to me did not happen and he saw that the Lord was blessing my life. I am so happy to have joined this church. I feel that all the blessings I enjoy in my life come from me choosing to follow the teachings of the church. I know with all my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is God's church. I know that if you feel like you want to join this church but there are those in your family who would pressure you not to that you should follow the spirit, you should follow truth and Heavenly Father will bless you for choosing what's right. He will strengthen you when you need strength. He will comfort you when you need comfort. He will bless your life beyond measure. I'm Lea Ann and I'm very proud to me a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Every Wednesday night I am at church teaching cub scouts. Cub Scouts is a great program and a great opportunity for me for teach skills to young boys and to have fun with them. I have seen several boys who struggle upon entering the program grow up and find purpose and friendship. It makes me feel good to know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has adopted this program in the United States and other parts of the world and that it blesses the lives of thousands of boys each year, not to mention blessings the leaders like myself receive from participating in these activities.
