Hi I'm Jeremy

I grew up in Utah. I'm an IT professional and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have many interests including Information Technology, hiking, biking, scouting and many other outdoor activities. I'm married and a father of 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member all my life. I made the choice to be baptized at the age of 8 years old as many others have done. During my early childhood I had a very faith promoting event happen. At this time my grandfather suffered a heart attack. I prayed to my Heavenly Father. Shortly after my prayer I had a comforting answer given to me and I knew that God answers prayers and that he loves me. From this small testimony I have continued to grow in the Gospel and learn of Him.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my Ward as the Young Men's President, and adviser to the Priests Quorum which consists of young men between the age of 16 - 18 years old. I help them understand the Gospel by teaching on Sundays and advising them in their activities such as Scouting and Combined youth conferences. I love working with the youth they are a light unto the world and offer hope for many who are seeking the Savior in their lives. Following their stories and their experiences helps build my faith in the Gospel knowing that they are gaining the understanding of our Heavenly Fathers plan here on earth. I may be their adviser but they have showed me many things and I have learned much from them as well.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jeremy
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and through our proselyting efforts we are reuniting the tribes of Israel. Besides this definition I tend to think that once you have been given a good gift it is better to share that gift with others in hopes that they will find that it is good as well and bring joy to their hearts. As our Savior has said, "A city that is set on hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." -Matt. 515-16  Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jeremy
Yes Mormons believe in the bible as far as it is translated correctly, according to one of our Articles of Faith. In addition one of my favorite cannon of scriptures is the New Testament. I love reading about the Savior's Life, why he lived and why he died. I have firm testimony of Jesus Christ and I know he is our Savior and that he died for us on the cross at Calvary. He has paid the ultimate price and took upon Him my sins so that I may not suffer these things if I have faith in Him and Repent of my sins. His Atonement is very real to me and I know He did this because He Loves me.  Show more Show less
