Hi I'm Karen

I'm a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and friend... and I, am Mormon.

About Me

My name is Karen. I've lived in the southern states of America almost my whole life. God has blessed me with the most fantastic husband, an amazing mother, 5 handsome brothers and 1 gorgeous sister. I was raised in a single parent home, with very little money spread between 7 kids. I lived off of hand me down clothes until i was 17. With no money, our family was "required" to become a close knit one. I love photography, blogging, cooking, scrapbooking, FACEBOOK & spending time with my 10 nieces and nephews. This fall I'm hoping to start school majoring in Radiology, and hope to one day be an ultrasound technician.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but that did not make my choice for me. For a good part of my teenage years, my family wasn't very active in the church. And I was left questioning my own religion. I was able to talk to two full time missionaries, who were able to share their testimonies with me. Who challenged me pray and to read the Book of Mormon. Upon completing the challenges of those amazing elders, I was able to gain a testimony of the gospel for myself. I was able to realize that I had a Father in Heaven who loved me dearly. Who knows not only my thoughts, but the thoughts and desires of my heart. I was able to realize that my Savior, Jesus Christ, loved me enough to not only take upon him all of my sins, but also my sorrows, and my infirmities! How can you truly understand someones sorrow without going through what they've gone through? And ultimately...he DIED for me, so that I may one day return to be with my Father in Heaven. Through prayer I began to realize the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and the sacred teaching is holds. I am eternally thankful for the blessings in my life. The Gospel, my Family and for those TWO missionaries who changed my life forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending all 3 hours of church meetings on Sunday. And participating in a scripture study event every Sunday night. As a branch, we do "family" home evening every Monday night. Where we have a nice spiritual thought, games, get to know you activities and DESSERT!! Throughout the week I go out with the full time Sister Missionaries. And bear my testimony to people they are teaching. I believe living your faith should be something apparent to the people you meet. I think the glow of the gospel is something that radiates through into your daily lives when you're doing the things that will bring you closer to your Father in Heaven and your Savior, Jesus Christ.
