Hi I'm Brent

I grew up in California and lived in Thailand for 2 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father. I have a BS in civil engineering and enjoy solving problems. I am a licensed civil engineer and am fascinated by the application of science. I enjoy playing basketball, going on walks and viewing weather phenomena. I love my family and especially my beautiful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

Learning that I can be with my family forever is a big reason for me. I see all around how the world seems to decay wherever strong family bonds are not kept. I know within my heart that we have a loving God and that He sent His son so that we can be led back to Him. My heart is touched by spiritual promptings and feelings of forgiveness as I seek repentance. This peace gives me hope and optimism as I gain a larger perspective of the purpose of life. I know that a plan was established before the first man walked upon this earth and that this great plan of a loving Heavenly Father is what all of His children need to hear and find for themselves. I know that the principles found in Christ's true gospel are found within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Revelation still continues today and peace comes from living right and setting my life in order with what Christ taught. I know we have a living prophet, Pres. Thomas S. Monson, who is the mouthpiece for Christ upon the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is a companion scripture to the Bible and is the word of God. It has touched my life in so many ways and studying the teachings found within it continues to shape who I am. I have found these truths on my own and I know that without the restoration of Christ's church in these days that man would still be lost. I know that Joseph Smith was a young man who questioned religion and went to the only source where pure truth comes from. I know that he saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ and that this great church was restored through Joseph Smith as he followed the revelations that poured from Heaven. All of these things point to a purpose and destiny that is built into all of us.

How I live my faith

I participate in instructing the youth both during the week and on Sundays. I serve whenever the opportunity or need arises and I don't worry about what sacrifice it might take on my part. I visit several families each month to make sure that their physical and spiritual needs are being met and to assist them as a friend and fellow member of the church. I feel the love of my Savior as I attend church and sing the hymns that are sung each Sunday. I see the beauty of God's creations each and every day and I know that each sunrise and rainbow shows me how much He loves me.
