Hi I'm Marianne

I've lived in Nebraska, Utah, Tennessee, California, Michigan and Arizona. Home is where you make it! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Recently my 17 year old son filled out a questionnaire about me and decided that almost every question could be answered with something that involved exercising. If I didn't have anything else to do, you'd probably find me at a gym. Being that one dimensional probably isn't a good thing! Thankfully I have 3 kids, a home, a job and a terrific husband that keep me from spending all my time at the gym. Although I graduated from BYU with a degree in dietetics, I work in our school district as a substitute teacher. Kids crack me up! I'm still trying to decide what to do with the rest of my life and my plans seem to change about every 5 minutes. I love being a mom, spending time with my family and traveling to Disneyland!

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been Mormon since the 1800s. My great grandparents were one of the first couples to be married in the Salt Lake Temple. Even with such a heritage, I still had to decide for myself about being an active Mormon. The first time I read the Book of Mormon all the way through was in high school. I received a sweet witness of Heavenly Father's plan for me. I love being Mormon. It keeps me grounded in what is really important in life. God loves us and wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

Right now, my calling in the church is as a ward missionary. How great is it to have a calling that your main goal is to be nice to people and share God's love! In our congregation, we have 11 young men/young women serving throughout the world as missionaries. I get to read the letters they send home and make a newsletter to share with everyone in our ward. Recently I was involved with the 12-13 year old young women! They are so much fun to be around. In a world that seems to reward bad behavior from youth, it is great to know there are some great young people who want to be good and serve others.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I've never served a full-time mission, however I have been involved in a few baptisms of friends and neighbors. It has truly blessed my life to share the gospel. God loves all his children and he wants everyone who has lived or will live to having the full blessings of His gospel. He wants his children to return to live with Him! We proselyte so that we can share that message with the whole earth. Show more Show less
