Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having been born and born and raised in Southern California, I have a love for the ocean and all water activities. On any given weekend you'd find me either surfing, scuba diving, spear fishing, wake boarding,or my other love of rock crawling in my Jeep. I was offered an internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and decided to 'ride the wave' and see what Wisconsin was all about. The internship turned into more of a permanent position and consequently now call Wisconsin my home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been sitting here for like 20 minutes thinking of what to write. I have written and rewritten the events and thoughts that lead up to my conversion. Then this thought hit me, “You are over thinking this John, you’re conversion is simple. You read the Book of Mormon and gained a reality Jesus Christ.” When it comes to the bottom line of why I am a Mormon, it boils down to that simple statement; I read the Book of Mormon and gained a reality of who Christ is. Since that day my life has only gotten better. I finally had the support system I needed to live the life I always wanted to live. I go through my day with a clear conscience. I have answers that I truly believe to the world’s toughest questions. I have good friends with good morals and values. I have home teachers who love me (chat with a representative to learn about home teaching). I can go anywhere in the world and know I have someone there who will welcome me with open arms.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the simple things: nightly prayers, scripture study, attending my Sunday services, and living a clean life.

What is being a Mormon like?

John
This is a great question. The first thing that popped into my head is that being a Mormon means you never have an excuse to be bored. There is always something going on that you can help with. There is always some big church event coming up that you can offer help with, you can prepare for the Sunday school lesson (you are given a schedule of all lesson topic and a study manual), you can do something for the people you home teach (as I stated in "Why I'm Mormon" chat with a church representative to learn about home teaching), you can go to the temple Tuesday-Saturday, and heaven forbid you can even study your scriptures... there's always something more to learn Show more Show less
