Hi I'm Richard Wood

Raised/live - Greater Seattle; business/estate planning attorney; backpacker - Cascade/Olympic Mtns.; temple worker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have an amazing wife, 6 wonderful children and 17 cherished grandchildren. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life and have had the privilege of serving in many church callings. By profession, I am a business attorney. One of the great joys in my life has been the opportunity to serve for many years as an ordinance worker in the temple. I have loved that experience. As one who perhaps is more keenly aware of the meaning of bearing a true witness, I bear testimony that the work and ordinances performed in the holy temples, both for the living and for those who have passed on, and the wonderful covenants entered into there, are of God and not of man. They are edifying, enriching, and elevating and are of only the highest ennobling character. It has been an honor to serve and worship there each week. The rich blessings of these sacred buildings are available to all who will seek the same and qualify themselves. Those blessings have been an absolute mainstay for me and my family throughout our lives - as we experience the many challenges and opportunities of this mortal life. Since my youth I have been in awe of God's magnificent creations and have cherished my opportunities to backpack with family, friends and youth in the high Cascade and Olympic Mountains for many years - visiting 150+ lakes, several of them 10+ times each.

Why I am a Mormon

I have felt the confirming, sure witness from on high many times that the teachings, covenants and ordinances of Jesus the Christ as revealed in their purity in these last days through modern prophets and apostles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are the way, the only way, for me and my family to return to our Father in Heaven - with honor.

How I live my faith

The principles and doctrines taught within the Church as practiced by me and my family have brought an immense amount of joy and peace to us. The sealing power exercised in the holy temple has bound us together in this life and will in the life to come. That promise, based upon our faithfulness, has been the foundation for all of us.
