Hi I'm Kent Hunt

I grew up in Texas all my life. I'm a powerlifting regional champ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm one who really enjoys keeping my self busy in life and having fun. My favorite hobbies are to play video games, play pretty much anykind of sport. Working out and listening or playing music. I'm currently going to college and I'm about to receive my bachelor's degree yay! Even though I keep myself busy with all these things my priority is church and staying close to it by reading my scriptures and praying continuously so I can feel joy in this life and forever after.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a mormon all my life but that doesn't mean I've known this church is true from the beginning. Infact I believe there comes a time in everyone's life where they need to have that own personal testimony for themselves and not be a borrowed testimony from someone else. To be honest though from birth to about the end of highschool I was a good boy and tried to do what my parents taught me and I'm forever grateful for that. However there were certain events that helped me to realize that there must be more out there. When I was 13 my father passed away in a tragic car accident and it was huge impact on me. When I was 19 I decided to serve a mission for my church but even then I did not have a full testimony. I finally realized that when my first zone leader bore his testimony of how he knew that the things he learned in life of the gospel were all facts but didn't truly know they were true till he followed those commandments in faith then he came to a knowledge that it was true. When he bore that testimony the spirit of God helped me to understand that that is how I have gained my testimony and I know I talk alot about my father's death and many may think that is a weakness to lose a father but truthfully for me it has strengthened me in more ways than are comprehendable at this time but I do know events of that nature truly have strengthened my testimony in God the Father and his only begotten Son Jesus Christ that They do live and are separate distince beings that have one purpose in mind and that is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. I have come to know this by excersising my faith by reading the book of mormon and praying and the results have been spectacular!

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we believe that everyday you need to live your faith and first and foremost it is through our example. There have been times where I have actually had opportunities to share about the church because of how I live my life as a latter day saint and I thoroughly enjoy those moments. Also throughout the week not just Sunday but also on Tuesday and maybe one other day of the week I do church related activities. Not all of it is serious spiritual stuff but it is very enjoyable. We play lots of games, sports, and there is much time to socialize as well and events like those truly give me the strength to get by week by week during this crazy world we all live in. I also serve in the church as well. Unlike other churches those who have responsibilities at church don't get paid and we refer to those as callings. My calling is entitled the executive secretary to the branch president. What I do is set appointments for individuals to meet with the branch president the head of the congregation and I also take notes in special leadership meetings to make sure everything is accounted for. Sure it may seem like a difficult task. However it brings me to realize I'm doing work for God and actually is very self fulfilling. I am also a hometeacher in the church and they have stewardship over a few select people and go to visit those individuals once a month and see how their doing and see if there is anything that I can do for them. I really enjoy this because through it you can build strong relationships and friendships that can last forever. Lastly we have our own church choir since I'm involved with music in my everyday life I really enjoy doing this and it gives me a lot of satisfaction.
