Hi I'm Mike

I enjoy bicycling to work. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked as an elementary school teacher for 26 years. I am married and have four children. My wife and I enjoy going to the Redlands Temple as our favorite date. Our son is 29 years old and our three daughters are 24, 22, and almost 11. At this time our family is spread about in Washington, Utah, Idaho, and California. I enjoy gardening, photography, teaching children, and traveling to see family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have enjoyed membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was ten years old when my mother and I were baptized. My father drove to work with a buddy who happened to be a member of the church. My dad would come home and tell us about the church. Eventually, we developed a testimony and a faith in the Lord's gospel and were baptized. During that time I have developed a faith in Jesus Christ through the answers to many of my prayers. It has been an exciting adventure. The Holy Ghost definitely answers prayers.

How I live my faith

A worthwhile challenge in my life is studying the scriptures and trying to apply the principles from them. I believe in trying to become a bit better everyday. Our family spends time together, whether it is doing some yard work, taking some chocolate chip cookies to a neighbor, or heading out to the tide pools at the beach. I think balancing work with family time allows me to value life more here on earth. As I mentioned earlier, my wife and I enjoy going to the Lord's temples and doing service there. An excellent bonus is that when we get home, we enjoy a much needed feeling of peace and joy that we can share with our children.
