Hi I'm Maggie

I grew up in Wisconsin, love reading, spending time with my family and especially my two little nephews. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy good books and the theater, music and nature. I love to learn about different things, people and places. I've been blessed to do a little traveling and enjoy learning the history of places I visit. I enjoy the beauty of nature, the four seasons and watching them come and go. The earth being renewed each spring, summer nights with fireflies and birds singing as the day ends and the silence of winter after a snowfall.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ after studying with the missionaries and realizing that what I had previously believed was only a part of God's plan for His children. I learned through prayer that this is truly the Lord's true church which contains all the ordinances necessary to live eternally with Heavenly Father and our families. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that his atonement was part of the plan to enable us to learn and grow and become more like Him. It has brought me more joy than I can explain, comfort during lifes struggles and a knowledge that not only is there a plan but that I have a part in it and Heavenly Father will help me know what that is if I stay close to Him. This choice has brought me peace comfort and joy throughout the 30 years I have been a member.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the women of my church. I have always appreciated the closeness we feel as we strive toward the same goal of returning to live with our Father in Heavin. Having only sisters in my family I have learned the blessing the friendship of other women can be when we focus on encouraging and uplifting one another instead of competing with each other. I have a few women I visit each month as an assignment, but it's not really an assignment because they have become my friends. Sharing joys, sorrow and everything in between. Meeting together at church on Sunday is like a large family coming together to catch up, support each other and worship God who helps and blesses us each day of our lives as we are willing to receive His help. We learn of our Savior and all he has done for us. It is a time of joy and renewing strength. Knowing of His love uplifts me all week long, I can strengthen those around me at work from the knowledge I've been given. The peace of the gospel is always with me.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Maggie
When I was first taught about there being a prophet of God in the world today. It made so much logical sense to me. We are taught in the Bible that God reveals his word through His prophet. It seemed to me that if the Lord felt that throughout all the time before he came to earth the people needed prophets, then it makes perfect sense that after he had left the earth to return to heaven we would still need the guidance, counsel and teachings of a prophet to remind us of the Saviour's words and how to live them so we can be happy. Having followed his prophet since that time I have seen how much our Father in Heaven loves us and watches over us and give us what we need to be happy in this life. Show more Show less
