Hi I'm Colby

I'm a Chiropractic student. I'm a four wheel drive enthusiast. I'm a husband & Father of one & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have known I was going to be a Chiropractor since High School. I think the Human body is one of God's greatest creations. I love to learn about, how it works, what happens when something goes wrong, and how we can make it better.  I love any activity that involves 4 rubber tires, a motor, and lacks pavement. My favorites are screaming through sand dunes on an ATV and rock crawling in my truck. My lifted SUV has been a part of my identity since the moment I got my licence. I don't consider any truck/SUV worth while unless it has a lift and big tires. Despite my passion for Chiropractic, health, and four wheeling, the thing that brings me the most joy in life is being a father and husband. Many of my peers think we are crazy for having our first girl only months after I started Chiropractic school, but it is my wonderful wife and beautiful daughter that keep me sane and my life balanced.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon today is because I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that this is the full and complete Gospel of Jesus Christ. Despite my vain attempts to find happiness following after my own will, I have learned that true happiness can only be obtained when you follow God's plan and obey Christ's Gospel. I have spent much time on my knees and hours studying the scriptures and I have come to know that the Bible is the word of God and that the Book of Mormon is just as much His word also! There is so much good in the greater Christian community and I have developed a profound love and respect for my Christian brothers and sisters of different faiths. We are all entitled to call upon God in prayer and seek truth by the Holy Ghost and pursue a higher life, no matter our spiritual back round, but it is my witness and my experience that the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Mormon church contains the fullness of the Gospel as taught by the Savior when on this earth and contains all the keys necessary to obtain happiness in this life and the life to come.

How I live my faith

Chiropractic school is crazy between the 10 or 12 classes I take each semester and the demands of being a father, it would be easy to let God drift off to the back round. In order to keep my faith strong and focus on Christ I always begin my studies every day with a study from the word of God. I feel if I am to ask Him to help me excel in my classes, I ought to seek knowledge of what really matters in life first. I also volunteer with the Young men youth group helping create memorable experiences, build character and to teach why Christ needs to be at the center of our faith. On my school’s campus, I helped start a Christian club in which we invite Christians of all faiths to gather once a week and set their studies aside to take some time to focus on the goodness of God and to talk of Christ.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Colby
The Bible is the word of God. It contains the dealings of God with many of the Prophets from the beginning of mankind to the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ and the subsequent ministry of His disciples in the greater Jerusalem area. We relish it as a valuable component of our faith and knowledge of God, particularly as it alone contains an account of the earthly ministry of Christ. We believe the Bible to be the word of God just as the Book of Mormon is the word of God, which is simply a record of God's dealings with the people in the Americas at the same time the Bible was being written over the seas.   Show more Show less
