Hi I'm Brad

I'm a husband, a father, a dreamer, I love my country, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am the third of four children in my family. I really do love my life and know that every good thing I have comes from a loving God. I have been blessed (or maybe cursed) with a strong imagination. It’s been there since my childhood and if anything has gotten stronger over the years. As such, I love to write and tell stories. I like to think about what the future has in store. I believe the simple life is the best life. My best times are just spending time with family and friends and enjoying the genuine relationships we form while living on Earth. Speaking of living on Earth, I’m pretty sure I was supposed to be born 50 years earlier! I love old music, old movies, and often picture myself living in the world my parents grew up in. I love my country and try to be as involved and informed in her political welfare as I can. I try to have an eternal perspective on things, knowing that all bad things will eventually be made right, if I put my trust in God. I believe happiness is a choice. I choose to be happy and when circumstances make that hard, I remember the promises of God and they always see me through.

Why I am a Mormon

I think the simple question, “Why are you Mormon?” deserves a simple answer. God told me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or the Mormon Church) contains the fullness of His teachings. A bold statement I know, but it really is that simple. God told me. There have been no burning bushes or angelic visitations in my life. But the Holy Spirit has consistently testified to me that this Church and its teachings are not of man, but of God. That naturally brings up other questions, “What is the Holy Ghost? How does He testify to you?” The Holy Ghost is a separate personage from God, our Heavenly Father. God sends the Holy Ghost to honest seekers of truth to guide them and to confirm to them that what they are seeing, hearing, or reading is indeed true. The Holy Ghost speaks to our minds and our hearts in such a divine way that we cannot deny we are receiving revelation (or knowledge sent from heaven). Anyone who sincerely desires to know if a particular practice or principle is true can know through the Holy Ghost that it is. If we communicate with God through prayer, He will communicate with us through the Holy Ghost. I know this is true because I have tried it, tested it, and experienced it for myself. My whole life is based upon this principle, that is if we ask with the intention to act, we shall receive.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ taught us to be doers of the word and not hearers only. “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in Heaven.” Thus we demonstrate true faith in God by the way we live our lives and treat those around us. The Savior also told us that we show our love for him by keeping his commandments. With the restoration of His Church and teachings, we have a deep and clear understanding of what these commandments are. I do not live a perfect life, but I strive constantly to perfect the divine abilities and attributes that we are all born with when we come to Earth. Each month, I take time to visit with members of our congregation to ensure that their temporal needs are being met and the fire of testimony is still burning bright in their lives. I am grateful for other teachers and friends who do the same for me. I try to be honest and forgiving. I try to treat others as the Savior would. Simply put, I try to be happy with life and appreciate the seemingly small things. By so doing, I show my trust in and love for God.
