Hi I'm Lincoln Sorenson

I am a teen from Wyoming who does track and loves history and politics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an eighteen year old senior from Wyoming. I do track, throwing the shotput and discus. I currently hold my high school's indoor track shot put record. I also enjoy history and politics and am planning to major in Social Studies Composite Teaching and Political Science. In the fall of this year I am going to serve an LDS mission and after that I plan on attending Utah State University.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and have stayed active because of a few reasons. One of them is that when I first read The Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true a great feeling of peace and truth engulfed me. Another is the fact that as I have observed people's lives around me I have noticed that those who have the Gospel of Christ in its fulness are able to overcome challenges more possitively than those who do not have the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I am a youth leader in my church. I help plan fun activities such as snowmobiling and backpacking trips as well as service. Some of the service my youth group participates in have been woodchopping, visiting elderly people around us, and shoveling snow for those who can't do it themselves.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Lincoln Sorenson
No, Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. The reason Joseph Smith is so important to Mormons is that he was the boy prophet that God choose to restore his Gospel. The Mormon church is officially named The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and we worship God and Jesus Christ only. Joseph Smith, to Mormons, held the same authority as Moses, Noah, or any other prophet in the Bible. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Lincoln Sorenson
Mormon Missionaries are encouraged to pay their way as they serve for two years. However, many receive help from the church, family members, and friends. Show more Show less
