Hi I'm Callie

A Wife, a Mom of 5, a runner, a sister, a Daughter, a friend. I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been married for almost 14 years. I have been blessed with 5 beautiful children. When people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would answer, "I want to be a Mom." I love to be home with my children, there when they wake up, there when they come home from school, there when they have a question to ask, there for them always. Besides being a Mom, I love to spend time with my husband. We go out on a date very friday night and I absolutely LOVE that! It helps me get through my week. I love being able to share my life with this man. I love to run!! It is something that I can do all by myself. I get to go on my runs and work through my problems, plan out my day, or not think at all and listen to my music and not have to worry about anyone else for a few hours. I have run 7 half marathons and have run 2 marathons. It is a great challenge that I truly enjoy. I love to decorate my house. I find it challenging and very rewarding when I can pull together something from my mind and make it come to life in a room. I love life and I love my Father in Heaven. Life has not always gone down the path that I think it should, but I know that my Father in Heaven knows what is best for me. My favorite quote, which is from Tomas S. Monson is "Find joy in the journey." I know that if I can do this I will be able to see the Lord in my life always and know that no matter how dark this may get there will always be the joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I am grateful for that. I was raised in an area where there were not a lot of LDS members and at times I felt odd or that I didn't fit in. As I headed into High school I felt it even more, but along with that I felt the desire to live that Gospel to it's fullest. I felt the need to hold on to what I believed and not care what other people thought of me. I watch many of my friend struggle with alcohol, drug and pre-marital sex and how it made life so much harder for them. It was because of my faith, my testimony and the Gospel that I had a path to follow and goals I wanted to fulfill. I wanted to get married in the temple and be a mom. I know that families are the most important thing on this earth and I wanted one of them. I wanted my family not only here on earth but for eternity. I knew I could get that through living the Gospel and that doing that would bring my peace, love, joy, happiness, success. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church here on the earth. I know that my family can be together of eternity and that I can live with my Heavenly Father again someday. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel to the earth. I know that the Lord hears and answers my prayers and that he knows me better than I know myself. I know that I am here on this earth to do many important this and I know that the Lord will help me do that and all I need to do is pray in faith and he will provide the way, the help, and the love I need to accomplish it all.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful to be able to do those things that the Lord ask me to do. I know that all that is asked of me comes from my Father in Heaven. I have been blessed to be able to visit, once a month, with wonderful women in my neighborhood and talk and share the Gospel with each other. I truly enjoy and look forward to that every month. I also try to find ways that I can help lighten the burden of those around me. I help by bring in meals to those who can't for what ever the reason. I love helping friends and neighbors with their children when they are in a bind or need to go back to work for one reason or another. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with the Young Women in our church by planning a week where we go camping and help them accomplish goals and challenges that will bless their lives forever. I love being with these beautiful young girls and watch their love for the Lord grow and to be an extra support along with their parents as they face the difficulties in this world. I am currently working on Sundays with a small group of children who are almost 8. I am helping them better understand the Gospel so that when they turn 8 they will be able to make the most important decision, to become a member on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I truly feel a deep love for each one of them and pray for them daily and want them to feel the love of the Lord in their lives. I am grateful for my faith. It brings purpose and meaning to my life.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Callie
As a member of the church we believe that one of the most important things is to be able to live with Heavenly Father again some day. One of the things we need to do to be able to accomplish that is to be baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There are many who, because of death, were unable to do this here on earth. We believe that in our temples we can to this very important step for them by being baptized for them. I have a very strong testimony of this important work and am very grateful to be able to help those who couldn't do this for themselves. Show more Show less
