Hi I'm Hal

I grew up in idaho and enjoy the outdoors...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 2 brothers and 2 sisters. After graduating high school and 1 year of college, I was called to the North Carolina Greensboro mission. After returning I married the love of my life and we have been blessed with 6 children....5 sons and 1 daughter. I graduated college with a degree in computer programming and was hired directly out of college as a computer programmer for a local power company. I worked for this company for 17 years and after some local downsizing, went to work for a global computer company, where I continue to work today. I love the outdoors including camping, boating, hunting and fishing, especially with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the church all of my life. I grew up with wonderful friends - all of which had the same values in life as me. This made it real easy to never question or doubt the church or it's teachings. It wasn't until later in my teens that I really started to question and doubt the testimony that I thought I had. Just like most people, there came a time in my life when I really needed to know if the gospel was true and if my way of life is what I needed and wanted. I didn't have a lightning bolt hit me or this huge revelation. I did notice however, that as I prayed and read sciptures, that still small voice would let me know that God was there and knew who I was. As I prepared for my mission and as I had wonderful experiences there, my testimony continued to grow. I know that the gospel teachings are a way of life and that sometimes the answers we seek come in small ways...line upon line. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life and in the life of my family. We have truley been blessed

How I live my faith

I enjoy helping others..I have been involved in teaching the youth most of my life through teaching classes on Sunday or camping with the scouts. I enjoy working at the cannery and have been involved in preparing myself and my family as our church leaders have counseled. I am currently keeping busy assisting the Bishop of our Ward as a counselor, to help our ward members continue to increase their spiritual growth.
